The Hardy Windows of Texas Promise

Clear Estimates, Certified Installation, No Gimmicks

If your windows feel drafty, dated or hard to use, Hardy Windows of Texas can help you compare better-fitting replacement options. We serve homeowners and property owners throughout Travis County with clear estimates, Low-E glass options and warranty-backed installation.

What is the difference between double-pane and triple-pane windows?

A double-pane unit has two panes of glass separated by a sealed, gas-filled space that slows heat transfer. Triple-pane adds a third pane and a second sealed space, which improves insulation and cuts outside noise further, but it also adds weight and cost. The right choice usually comes down to the room, the direction the opening faces and how much street or highway noise you deal with. You can see both built up side by side in our window showroom before you commit, and we will tell you plainly when the third pane earns its cost and when a well-built double-pane unit will serve you just as well.

How does Low-E glass hold up in Texas heat?

Low-E is a very thin, transparent metallic coating on the glass that reflects heat while still letting visible light through. In practice, that means less solar heat pushing into south and west-facing rooms through a long summer afternoon, less glare on screens and less fading on floors, rugs and furniture. It also helps hold conditioned air inside, so your system doesn't have to work as hard to keep up. Coatings come in different performance levels, so the right one depends on which way an opening faces and how much shade it already gets. Our window efficiency resources break down those tradeoffs, and we recommend glass per elevation instead of one blanket spec for the whole house.

How long does a window replacement project take?

Most residential projects start with a consultation and measurement visit. From there, your windows are made to fit your home, followed by installation once they're ready. Custom sizes, specialty shapes and larger orders may take a little longer to produce than standard sizes. Installation is usually the quickest part of the process, and many homes can be completed in a day or two depending on the number of windows. You'll receive an expected timeline in writing with your free in-home window estimate, and if anything changes along the way, you'll hear it from us.

What affects the cost of a window replacement estimate?

Size and quantity move the number most, followed by frame material, window style and the glass package you choose. Beyond the units themselves, cost is driven by what the installation actually requires: the condition of the existing frame and surrounding wall, whether an opening needs custom sizing, access on upper floors and any trim or finish work needed to make the new units look right. If you would rather not do the whole house at once, our flexible window financing can spread the project out, and phasing by elevation is a normal way to start. What you will not see from us is a padded number built to leave room for a discount later.

What does FGIA Master Certified installation actually mean?

FGIA stands for the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance, the industry body that publishes installation standards for windows and doors. Master Certified means an installer has been trained and tested against those published standards rather than picking up the trade informally on the job. It matters more than most homeowners expect, because a large share of the problems people blame on the window itself, such as air leaks, water finding its way in and sashes that bind, trace back to how the unit was set, shimmed, flashed and sealed. You can read more about our window company background and the multigenerational glazing experience behind the certification, then judge for yourself whether the crew you are considering can say the same.

What areas do you serve for replacement windows?

Hardy Windows of Texas installs replacement windows for homeowners and property owners across Travis County and the surrounding Central Texas area. From the Pond Springs Road office in northwest Austin, the same crews handle measurement, product selection, removal, installation and finish work, so one team stays accountable from the first visit through the final piece of trim. Product availability, lead times and any permit or HOA approval requirements are confirmed with you during the in-home estimate rather than after the order is placed.

Service area breakdown

Primary service cities: homeowners comparing window replacement Austin, TX work with the same crews that handle window replacement Round Rock, TX and window replacement Cedar Park, TX, along with the neighboring Central Texas communities.
