Our Story

Attitude Is Everything

Hardy Windows has been family owned and operated since 1989. What began with Chance Hardy taking on window and glass jobs out of his garage has grown into an experienced team serving homeowners, property managers and commercial customers.

Here in Texas, Hardy is still very much a family business. The name on the sign is our name, too, and we care about the work that goes out with it.

A lot has changed since those early days. The determination behind the company hasn’t.

“Attitude is everything” is a motto our founder, Chance Hardy, has lived by his entire life.

Chance got his start in the glass business at 19, when his dad helped him land an apprenticeship with Local Union 636. By day, he worked hard installing glass in skyscrapers in downtown L.A. By night, he was back in his garage taking on side jobs and working toward a dream of building a company of his own.

After saving enough to leave his job as an installer, Chance took a leap of faith. He put what he had saved into that dream, and in 1989, Hardy Window Company was born.

Then, in February 2001, life changed in an instant.

Chance was riding ATVs in the desert with his brothers when he lost control of his four-wheeler. The accident broke his back and left him paralyzed. It was the kind of moment that could’ve changed not only Chance’s life, but the future of the company he’d worked so hard to build.

But Chance approached his recovery with the same determination he had brought to Hardy from the beginning. With a strong family and dedicated friends beside him, he found a way to balance his recovery with continuing to build the business.

He also came to an important realization. Chance might not be able to physically build his dream the way he once had, but Hardy Windows needed more than his brawn. It needed his brain.

Chance kept going. So did Hardy.

And the philosophy that guided him through those early years continues to shape the way Hardy does business today: Attitude is everything.

Why Choose Hardy?

Four Reasons Homeowners Keep Calling Hardy Back

Decades of Window and Door Experience

We’ve been doing this since 1989. That experience helps us understand what works, what doesn’t and what to look for before your project ever reaches installation.

Our Installers Are Our Own

Our FGIA-certified installers handle the measuring, removal and installation. We don’t hand your project off to outside contractors, so the people working on your home are part of the Hardy team.

Warranties in Writing

You’ll receive product and labor warranties in writing when you purchase. If something needs attention after installation, you know who to call. Our team will be there to take care of it.

More Options for More Projects

We work with trusted window and door manufacturers and offer options in vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum, wood and wood-clad. That means we can help you find the right fit for your home, project and budget.
